Strategies and Action Plans

Johnson and Scholes define strategy as follows:
“Strategy is the direction and scope of an organisation over the long-term: which achieves advantage for the organisation through its configuration of resources within a challenging environment, to meet the needs of markets and to fulfil stakeholder expectations”.

Or as we would put it, ‘how you are going to get to where you want to be in the business you are in’.

At Tourism UK our team of tourism consultants have prepared leisure and business tourism strategies for local authorities, destination management organisations and economic development agencies. Of-course we can use the Boston Matrix and the Ansoff growth matrix if that’s what’s required, we can explain Porter’s value chain analysis and how your organisation might achieve competitive advantage through it. But if you just want a strategy that tells you what you need to do to get where you want to be, then we can do that too.

Sometimes all you need is another perspective.
