The group that oversees the delivery of North East England’s Tourism Strategy has selected a new member as part of streamlined new format to help it meet the challenges facing the region’s visitor economy. Kevin Kaley, Director of Tourism UK Ltd. has been appointed to the North East Tourism Advisory (NETA) board, which guides the work of Regional Development Agency One NorthEast’s tourism team.

Kevin, who was based in County Durham, has over 20 years experience in the sector, both in the UK and Overseas, and has been director of Tourism UK Ltd, an independent tourism consultancy for the past eight years.

Louise Davis, Head of Tourism at One NorthEast said: “Now that the regional tourism team at One NorthEast and the four Area Tourism Partnerships are delivering a wide range of activity to support, manage and grow the region’s visitor economy, the NETA board’s focus will be on the future challenges facing the region’s tourism industry. “The Board provides us with a wealth of experience from areas including transport, accommodation, visitor attractions, destination management and hospitality and the addition of Kevin Kaley who brings a vast of amount of expertise in the sector will add a further dimension.”
